Diversity and Community Engagement

The University of Mississippi

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Student Online Training

Letter to Students from Provost and Vice Chancellor for Diversity and Community Engagement

Dear University of Mississippi Students,

The University of Mississippi is dedicated to supporting the academic success of every student on our campus. We believe that learning to navigate and foster a diverse and inclusive environment is an important skill for your personal and professional growth. As a result, the university has partnered with EVERFI, whose mission is to help students address critical life skills at higher education institutions and organizations across the country.

All students will be required to complete this Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for Students Course, which covers concepts such as self-awareness and respect for others. In this course, you will learn:

– Reflect on the knowledge, attitudes, and experiences that inform your relationships with others

– Develop valuable skills needed to navigate diverse environments

– Create and foster inclusive environments in all spaces across campus

– Serve as an advocate for other students on campus

You should dedicate at least 45 mins for completing this course and you are expected to complete this course by the assigned due date of April 1, 2020. Log-in to access the course here.
